A marketing director called me at 8:30 in the morning from an office lot off the Ventura Road shopping corridor in Oxnard. She had a client meeting at 10 and her S90 was giving her nothing. Push to start, no response. She tried holding the fob against the steering column backup spot, nothing there either. The display just sat on "Key not found."
I got to her lot in about 25 minutes. Decoded the door with my HU101 Lishi pick, got inside, and connected through OBD to pull up the CEM on the P31452889 board. The original YGOHUF8423 fob had a corroded CR2032 contact inside, and the CEM had stored a communication fault that a fresh battery alone was never going to clear.
I programmed a replacement smart key, wrote the new transponder data through the CEM security access procedure, and seated a fresh CR2032. The whole hands-on part took about 30 minutes.
Then the part I don't skip: testing passive entry on every door handle, trunk release, lock, unlock, panic, and push to start with foot on brake. All four buttons, every function.
She made her 10am meeting. Texted me that afternoon to say thanks. The dealer had quoted her a tow plus a multi-day wait for a new key order. She got it done in a parking lot for a fraction of that.
