2009 Cadillac Escalade
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in San Diego

2009 Cadillac Escalade Transponder Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

He was at a steakhouse in Fallbrook, over near Bonsall, celebrating his anniversary when he realized his jacket was gone from the coat check. Keys, wallet, phone. He borrowed the host's phone, called the police, and then his wife called me from hers.

His 2009 Cadillac Escalade was sitting in the lot with zero keys. The Cadillac dealer told his wife the car would need to be towed in, they could not look at it for three to five business days, and they were recommending a full key memory wipe since the stolen key could still operate the vehicle. The estimate she got over the phone was not a small number.

All-keys-lost after a theft is not the same job as cutting a spare. The priority is killing the stolen key first. I got to the lot, connected my scan tool through the diagnostic port, cleared the existing key memory, and enrolled two new keys from scratch. The old stolen key is dead to that car now. It won't start it, and the remote won't operate the locks.

I decoded the door lock, cut both key blades to the vehicle, programmed the transponder chips, synced the remotes, and tested everything before he walked out of the restaurant. He drove home that night. His wife looked at me like I had just done something unreasonable in the best possible way.

The dealer estimate, the tow, the five-day wait, none of it happened. He had two working keys in his hand before the kitchen closed.
