2011 Cadillac Escalade
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in San Diego

2011 Cadillac Escalade Transponder Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

A customer near the Encanto Border edge of Lemon Grove called me on a weekday afternoon. She had bought her 2011 Escalade used a couple years back, one key in the deal, always meant to get a spare cut. Never did. Then the parking garage concrete made the decision for her.

The shell split clean on impact. When she tried to use the blade manually on the door lock, it snapped off at the shoulder and the tip stayed inside the cylinder. She was standing in the garage holding a cracked fob in one hand and nothing useful in the other.

I got there and pulled the blade fragment out of the lock first, then decoded the cylinder so I could cut a matching blade. The transponder chip inside the broken housing was still intact, which was the good news. I transferred the salvaged electronics into a fresh shell, verified the chip was reading correctly, and cut two new blades to match. Both keys tested out on the ignition and the doors before I packed up.

The whole thing ran about 45 minutes on site. She asked what the dealer would have charged. I told her to call and find out, because the number is the kind of thing people need to hear directly to believe it. She laughed, said she already knew it was going to be bad.

Two working keys, one salvaged chip, no tow, no appointment, no waiting room.
