2009 Honda FIT Remote Head Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
I was parked on the street near Westwood in Rancho Bernardo when she walked up to the van. Before she even told me what she needed, she asked to see my license.
That didn't throw me off at all. I handed her the card and told her she could pull up the BSIS record on her phone right then if she wanted. She did. She'd already been burned once, she said. A previous locksmith had done work on her car, gave her a receipt that turned out to be a scrap of paper with no company name, no license number, and a phone number that stopped working a week later. She found out afterward he wasn't licensed. By then there was nothing to do about it.
She needed a spare key for her 2009 Honda FIT. Not because she'd lost one, just because she was tired of having a single key on a car she relied on every day.
I pulled the right blank for her FIT, cut the blade to her existing key, transferred over to a good shell, and programmed the new remote head key to the car through the OBD port. The whole thing happened at the curb. She watched every step.
When I handed her the new key she tested it herself, locks, unlock, the ignition, everything. Ran fine.
She said the license thing wasn't about being difficult. She just didn't want to be in that position again. I told her that's exactly why the number is on the side of the van.
