2017 Honda FIT Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
A guy had been fishing somewhere near Kearny Mesa, bouncing between the dock and a bait shop, and somewhere in that stretch his only key disappeared. He checked every pocket, retraced every step, talked to every vendor in the lot. Nothing.
His 2017 Honda Fit was just sitting there. He called me because he figured I was a better option than waiting through the weekend for a dealer appointment, getting a tow, and paying whatever they felt like charging on a Monday morning.
I got there that afternoon. Picked the door, decoded the wafer positions from the lock, and cut a fresh blade to match. From there I plugged into the OBD port and ran the all-keys-lost sequence. That process has a timed step built in, so you sit with it, you don't rush it. When it finished, the new fob started the car on the first attempt.
He asked me to cut a spare while I was there, which was the right call. The whole job was done in under an hour. He drove home from the same lot he'd been stranded in, with two working keys instead of zero.
The dealer option was still waiting for him on Monday if he wanted it. He did not want it.
