2018 Honda FIT Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
I was parked near the CSUSM area when a call came in from a security guard over in San Marcos. He worked overnight shifts and his only fob had stopped being recognized by his 2018 Fit. The car was sitting in his townhouse garage. He'd already looked up tow companies.
I told him to stay put.
He met me in the garage around 11pm. The Fit just sat there, completely unresponsive to the fob. Push the start button and nothing happened the way it should. The car's security system had no registered key it was willing to talk to.
I connected my diagnostic equipment to the OBD port, ran the all-keys-lost procedure for the Honda smart key system, and enrolled a new fob to the car. That process clears out whatever the immobilizer had stored and teaches it the new key from scratch. Once the fob was registered, I walked every function: door handles, lock and unlock buttons, and the start button. Everything came back clean.
He watched the whole thing from a folding chair in his own garage. Took under an hour. He had mentioned the dealer earlier in the conversation, mostly out of habit. I didn't push the comparison. When I packed up and he saw the total, he brought it up himself.
I come to you. That's the whole point.
