I bought a replacement fob online for my 2006 GX. Can I program it myself without a tech?

For the transponder side, that is a different matter. If you need a new key blade with a new chip, that chip has to be programmed with equipment. An unprogrammed transponder in the ignition will get you a no-start.

Short version: if you already have a working key and just want to add the remote function to a new fob, there is a path. If you need a full replacement key from scratch, bring the right tools or call someone who has them.
