A real estate agent called me at about 8 in the morning from an office parking lot in Downtown La Mesa. She had a client showing at 9, her GX was sitting right there, and the start button was doing nothing. She had already tried holding the fob against the button, which tells me she had done some reading. Smart move, actually. The fob itself had developed a registration mismatch, which can happen after a battery dies completely and the fob loses its sync state. I registered a fresh fob to the vehicle, confirmed all four buttons, checked that the start button responded from the driver seat and from outside the door handle, and had her engine running with about 40 minutes to spare before the showing.
She made it. The dealer comparison came up while I was packing my bag. She had called the dealership first, before calling me. They had quoted her an appointment the following afternoon. That was the end of that conversation.
