I got a call from out near Santee Lakes one morning, a guy with a 2005 Navigator who was dealing with something more complicated than just a dead fob. He was a disabled veteran, used a wheelchair, and his only key had stopped unlocking the doors remotely. He could still start the truck, but the remote functions were completely gone and he depended on that one key for everything.

Then I cut a fresh remote head key to his vehicle, programmed the transponder, and synced the remote functions through the OBD port. Tested every button, tested the start, walked around the truck. Everything worked.
He did not have to leave. Did not have to call anyone for a ride or wait weeks for a dealer appointment. I handed him a tested, working key in his driveway, and he was back inside the clinic before noon.
The dealer comparison came up at the end, almost as an aside. He had called them first, out of habit. The appointment they offered was not that week. What I charged was a fraction of what they quoted, and I came to him.
