2014 Lincoln Navigator
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in San Diego

2014 Lincoln Navigator Remote Head Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

Shadowridge in Vista is mostly a bedroom community, people who drive to work early and come home late. When someone there loses use of their Navigator, it is not a minor inconvenience.

A woman called me on a Monday. She had one key for her 2014 Navigator and it had stopped working over the weekend. The lock and unlock buttons were dead, the key barely started the car on the first try, and she was already late rethinking her Tuesday morning. She had called the dealer first. They told her the key needed to be ordered, and they could probably get her in by end of week, possibly into the following week depending on parts availability.

She found me through a search, saw the reviews, and called. I was in Shadowridge that same afternoon.

I confirmed the original CR2032 was completely flat. Swapped it on the spot, tested the remote range, and both worked. But she also mentioned the car had been acting up at the ignition level the week prior, cranking and then cutting out once. That told me the remote battery dying was not the only issue. I ran a full key test, checked that the immobilizer was recognizing the transponder properly, and confirmed the key-to-vehicle pairing was still solid.

Then I cut and programmed a second remote head key for her so she was not back in the same single-key situation. I tested both keys on all functions before I left the driveway.

She had called the dealer for a Friday appointment. She had two working keys by Monday evening.
