2007 Subaru Legacy Transponder Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
A graphic novelist called me from a hillside street near the CSUSM Area in San Marcos. Narrow one-lane road, steep grade, no turnout. His 2007 Legacy was parked up there and he had no working key. I parked at the bottom of the hill and walked up with my bag. The 2007 Legacy takes a transponder key, no fob involved, so the job was a blade cut and a chip program. I decoded the blade on the spot, cut it from a blank I had on me, and used my programmer to clone the transponder data onto a fresh chip. The key turned, the immobilizer recognized it, and the engine started like nothing had ever happened.
His car never moved during the job. Didn't need to. That's kind of the point of mobile work.
The dealer comparison didn't even come up until he asked at the end. When I told him what I charged, he just nodded and said the dealer quote alone would have required getting a tow involved anyway. Saved a good chunk, and he didn't have to wait until Tuesday.
