Start with the CR2032 battery. A dying cell on this fob will kill the remote range and button response well before it affects the transponder, so the car keeps starting normally while the remote goes silent. Swap the battery, make sure it seats flat against both contacts, and retest all four buttons.

If a fresh CR2032 doesn't fix it, the issue could be in the fob itself, a cracked circuit board from a drop, a worn button contact, or moisture getting into the shell. At that point you're looking at a replacement fob that gets programmed to your car. But don't skip the battery swap first.
