A parent was parked in the Las Americas Area near the high school in San Ysidro, there for an early conference, and her Avalon just sat. Fob in hand, nothing responding. No door unlock, no response from the start button when she got back to the car. She had a pickup to make across town inside the hour.

Everything came back clean. No programming work needed at all, just a battery that had finally given out at the worst possible moment.
She made her pickup. The dealer was never part of the conversation -- she had called them first and they were quoting her a days-long wait and a bill that made no sense for what turned out to be a battery swap and a contact cleaning.
