His car started in the same beach lot. Total was $185. The dealer wanted $395 plus a tow and a multi-day wait. The whole process from lock decode to engine running took about 50 minutes. All-keys-lost sounds like a crisis, but on most Toyotas it is a routine field job with the right tools.
