Out in De Luz, the roads get narrow and the cell signal gets thin fast. A guy camping on a site access road off one of those back routes texted me after losing his only key somewhere between breaking down his tent and loading the truck bed. No spare. No nearby dealer. His 2012 Tundra was parked where a flatbed was not going to have an easy time reaching it.

He drove out under his own power. No tow, no wait, no trip to a dealer that was a long haul away even without the access road problem. I drove back down the hill.
