In Ventura Harbor Village, a delivery driver handed me his Acura fob and the little HO01 emergency insert in two pieces. The blade had snapped off flush inside the driver door cylinder. He'd been forcing a slightly bent insert for months and it finally sheared.
Another locksmith told him the cylinder had to be drilled. I told him not yet. If I can pull the fragment clean, the lock stays original.
I used a broken-key extractor to hook the piece and walk it out. Once it cleared, I went to the HON66 Lishi, read the wafers, and cut a fresh HO01 insert on site. Smooth in, smooth out, no binding.
Then I checked the electronics. Five-button smart key, FCC ID KR580399900, OEM part 72147-TZ3-A51, board number A2C80399900. His shell was cracked along the seam, so I moved the board into a new housing and set a fresh CR2032.
Last step is always the truth test. Door handle touch unlock, handle lock button, trunk release, panic, remote start, then an engine start with the fob in his pocket. It fired right up. He just nodded and went back to his route.
The dealer route would have meant ordering parts by VIN, proving ownership at the counter, then waiting for a programming appointment with the car sitting there. He was back on the road in under an hour.
