2009 Audi Q5 Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
There is a wine bar patio out in Wood Ranch where Simi Valley slows down a little. That is where I met an interior designer who had been driving her 2009 Q5 for almost a year on one key.
She bought it used. One fob came with it. She kept meaning to get a spare cut and just never got around to it until the original started getting flaky, range dropping off, the car occasionally not reading it cleanly at the door. That is when it became urgent.
She had called the Audi dealer earlier that week. They told her to book a half-day appointment, bring the car in, and they would order the part and call her back to schedule the actual programming. Two trips, half a day, and a quote that made her pause. She found me that evening.
I pulled up while she was still at dinner. Decoded her door lock directly to get the blade profile, cut the replacement blade, assembled the fob with a fresh CR2032, and ran the programming through the OBD port to register it to her vehicle's immobilizer. Tested every button, tested the blade in the ignition, walked the doors. The whole thing wrapped up in about 35 minutes next to the parking lot.
She came out and I handed her a working spare before her check arrived. No appointment, no second trip, no tow. Just the key she had been putting off, handled while she ate.
