An architect near Dizdar Park in Camarillo called me from a parking garage under her building. Her Q5 key had stopped working and she was stuck on level P3. She had already called a tow company, but the driver took one look at the tight spiral ramps and low ceiling clearance and said no. Then the dealer told her to get the car to them first. Catch-22.
I drove into the garage, parked one level up, and walked down with my bag and the VVDI2.
Her 2016 Q5 runs the BCM2 immobilizer with a Megamos AES transponder. Since this was an all-keys-lost situation on a post-2013 encrypted BCM2, I had to pull the module and read it on the bench to extract the PIN and component security bytes. That part takes patience. Once I had the data, I generated a new Megamos AES chip value, built a fresh key with the correct HU66 profile cut on my mobile machine, and programmed it through the OBD port using the extracted data.
Tested the key cycle, comfort access, remote lock and unlock, and the trunk button. Everything responded clean. She sat in the driver seat, hit start, and just watched the dash for a few seconds like she was waiting for it to argue.
Her car never left that parking spot. I packed up and walked back to P2. The whole thing took about 45 minutes, and she spent a fraction of what the dealer quoted, assuming the dealer could have even started the job.
