2000 BMW M5
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in Ventura County

2000 BMW M5 Remote Head Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

He was at a spot near Camino Real Marketplace in Goleta when he realized his jacket was gone from the back of his chair. Keys, wallet, phone. He borrowed someone's phone, called the police, called his wife, then called me.

His 2000 BMW M5 was sitting in the lot with zero keys. The BMW dealer told his wife the car would need to be towed in, they were looking at several business days, and they wanted to wipe and reprogram the immobilizer system because the stolen fob could still unlock the doors. The estimate was not small.

I was there within the hour. All-keys-lost on the E39 M5 means pulling the stored key data from the immobilizer module and the engine computer, clearing the old key slots so the stolen fob goes electronically dead, then registering fresh keys from scratch. I decoded the lock profile, cut two new blades to match, and registered both remote head keys on site.

His wife pulled up just as I was walking both keys through a full test: doors, locks, remote functions, ignition. Everything confirmed before I handed them over.

He drove the M5 home that night. The stolen fob is dead. The dealer's timeline was nearly a week plus a tow. We were done before his ride arrived, for a fraction of what they wanted.
