Got a call from a guy out in the Birnam Wood area of Montecito. He had been fishing nearby and somewhere between the dock and the bait shop, his only key to a 2016 Honda HR-V EX just vanished. Searched for an hour, asked every vendor around, turned his tackle bag inside out. Nothing.

I used my HON66 Lishi to pick the door and decode every wafer position on the lock. Cut a fresh emergency insert blade right there on the tailgate. Then I plugged into the OBD-II port and ran the all-keys-lost procedure through the Honda immobilizer, which uses the HITAG3/AES 128-bit protocol on these. The system wiped his old lost KR5V1X fob and registered the new one as primary. Push the start button, engine caught on the first press.
Then I programmed a second smart key so he would not be back in this spot again. Tested both fobs on every door handle sensor, the hatch release, lock, unlock, panic. Everything behaved.
The whole thing took about 45 minutes. He drove home from the same lot he thought his car was stuck in until Monday. For a lot less than the dealer plus tow would have run him.
