Over in Las Posas Park in Camarillo, a guy had his 2013 Jeep Patriot sitting in the driveway with zero keys. He lost his only one somewhere between the grocery run and home the day before. Checked every pocket, every bag, under the seats. Gone.
He called the dealer first. They told him it would be a tow to the service bay, a weekday-only appointment, and a wait that could stretch a few days depending on parts. He called me on a Saturday afternoon.
I used my SIP22 Lishi to pick the door lock and decode every wafer position for the exact cut depths. The Patriot uses a standard 8-cut SIP22 blade, so once I had the decode I could cut a fresh key on the van. Then I connected through the OBD port and ran the all-keys-lost procedure through the Wireless Control Module, which sits behind the dash on the driver side. The WCM cleared out the old key data and registered the new OHT692427AA as primary.
Cut a spare while I was there. Both keys tested on start, remote lock, unlock, trunk, and panic. He stood on the driveway watching the whole thing and just said, "I was about to lose my whole weekend over this."
He kept both keys on separate rings after that. Lesson learned the hard way, but at least it got fixed on site for a fraction of what the dealer quoted.
