So a key-not-detected warning doesn't automatically mean the fob is dead or needs replacement. It can mean a door handle antenna is weak, the 12V battery is below threshold, or there's a communication issue in the keyless module. Start with the fob battery, then get the system scanned before spending money on a new key you may not need.
