2015 MINI Clubman Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
Got a call from a guy in the College Estates area of Oxnard. His 2015 MINI Clubman would not start. Both smart keys were gone. One lost months ago, the second one disappeared somewhere between his kitchen and the driveway that morning.
He had already called the MINI dealer. They told him the car had to be towed in, the CAS3+ module needed to be accessed on their system, and it would be a multi-day wait because they had to order a new key and get it shipped. He said the guy on the phone sounded almost bored giving him the bad news.
I drove out with my equipment. Plugged into the OBD port, pulled up the CAS3+ module, and started the all-keys-lost procedure. Read the ISN from the CAS3 unit, matched it to the DME, then registered a fresh NBGIDGNG1 fob and cut the HU92 emergency blade on site using the key code I extracted from the door lock. The old missing fobs got wiped from the system so they are dead if someone finds them.
After programming, I tested Comfort Access on both front doors, trunk release, lock, unlock, and start. Everything responded. He sat in the driver seat and just held the fob in his hand for a second, like he was making sure it was real.
Whole thing took about 40 minutes in his driveway. A fraction of what the dealer quoted, no tow, no waiting days.
