Got a call from a guy near the Woolworths Building downtown in Oxnard. His 2017 Countryman S ALL4 had one working key left, and his wife had lost the other one somewhere between the grocery store and home two weeks prior. He had been putting it off, hoping it would turn up in a coat pocket or under a seat.

He called the MINI dealer first. They told him he would need to bring the car in, leave it, and wait several days for the replacement fob to come in and get programmed. He asked about doing it faster. They said no.
I pulled up to his car that same afternoon. The F60 Countryman runs the FEM module, which is the body domain controller handling key registration on these newer MINIs. I connected through the OBD port, read the key data off the FEM, and programmed a new NBGIDGNG1 smart key with a fresh CR2032 already seated. Cut the emergency blade to match. Then I erased the lost key from the system so it could not start or unlock anything, even if it turned up in a stranger's hands.
Tested all four buttons, checked Comfort Access on both front doors and the tailgate, and verified the push-button start from both front seats. The whole thing took about 35 minutes. He stood there watching and kept looking back at his phone where he had the dealer's quote pulled up, shaking his head.
He kept his one original key and drove off with two working fobs and no lost key floating around out there with active access.
