Got called to the College Area in Ventura for a 2022 Eclipse Cross that wouldn't recognize its only key. The dash showed "Engine Start Operation System" and the owner was stuck.

Reformed the clips, cleaned the contact points. The car fired right up. No ETACS reflash needed, no new key programming. Just proper battery contact. I tested all functions: lock, unlock, panic, remote start if equipped. Everything worked.
The dealer had quoted her for a new smart key and programming. Would've been a fraction of that just to diagnose the real issue. Sometimes the expensive answer isn't the right answer.
