Met a plumber in Windsor North neighborhood whose 2024 Ram 3500 wouldn't detect his only key. The dash kept flashing "Key FOB Not Detected" even with the fob right on the start button.
He'd already tried the CR2032 swap. Twice. Still nothing. His service body was loaded with copper and PVC, jobs lined up, and the dealer wanted him to flatbed it in for diagnostics plus whatever they'd find wrong.
I pulled up to his driveway and plugged into the OBD. The RF Hub was throwing U11E9-00 codes. That's communication loss between the hub and the fob. Could be the hub, could be the key, could be the secure gateway blocking everything. I ran the TSB 08-038-23 reset procedure through my Autel IM608. Takes about 12 minutes for the RF Hub to cycle through its relearn.
The fob came back online. All five buttons worked: lock, unlock, remote start, panic, and the tailgate release. The "Key FOB Not Detected" message cleared out.
Turns out the RF Hub software can glitch and forget paired keys. The reset forces it to recheck its memory without erasing anything. He saved whatever the dealer route would have cost him, plus the flatbed fee, plus the wait time.
