2004 Saturn VUE Remote Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
Got a call from a guy over in the Springville neighborhood in Camarillo. His 2004 Saturn VUE key snapped right at the shoulder, half still in the ignition. He had been wiggling it for weeks because the cylinder was getting stiff, and today it finally gave up.
He was sitting on the curb next to the VUE holding the plastic head of the key and the LHJ011 remote like two pieces of evidence. He kept clicking the lock button on the remote out of habit even though the car was already locked with the broken bit jammed in.
I extracted the broken piece from the cylinder without pulling the whole lock apart. Took a few minutes with the right pick tools. Then I decoded the wafers in the cylinder and cut a fresh key right off the van. No transponder to worry about on the 04 VUE, so once the blade is cut correctly, it turns and starts. Simple as that.
Then I paired his existing LHJ011 remote back up. Lock, unlock, hatch release, all three buttons tested from about 30 feet away and again from the driver seat. He held both pieces of the old key up next to the new one and just shook his head.
Whole thing took less time than he spent on hold with the dealer trying to get a quote earlier that morning. He saved a good chunk going mobile instead.
