2005 Saturn VUE Remote Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
Out in the Somis area of Camarillo, a VUE owner called me on a Tuesday morning. She had one key left and it had been acting up for weeks. Lock button worked from two feet away, unlock did nothing unless she was right on top of the door. She figured the fob was dying and wanted a spare before she lost the only one.
I got there and popped the fob open on her tailgate. The CR2032 had a white haze on one contact, just enough corrosion to mess with the signal. Cleaned it, seated a fresh battery, and the range came right back. That fixed her daily driver key.
Then I cut and programmed a second remote. The 2005 VUE uses the LHJ011 remote head key, part number 22733524 for the shell, with a standard double-sided blade on an MIT9 keyway. No transponder chip to worry about, so the key side is a straight mechanical cut from the door code. The remote pairing is done through a simple on-board procedure, cycling the ignition and holding the lock and unlock buttons together.
She stood there watching me test both remotes, locking and unlocking from across her driveway, hitting the panic, starting the engine with each key. Both worked clean.
She went from one half-dead remote to two fresh ones, done right there on her property, for a fraction of what the dealer quoted her over the phone.
