2011 Subaru Tribeca Remote Head Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
A teacher from Oxnard had picked up a 2011 Subaru Tribeca from an auction lot. Clean car, decent miles, one key. She called the local Subaru dealer to price out a spare before she got comfortable relying on a single key. They quoted her more than she was expecting for a replacement remote head key. She called me instead.
I met her at The Collection while she was running errands. She didn't want to lose half a day sitting at a service department.
I decoded the blade from her door lock cylinder rather than drilling into it, then cut a fresh replacement blade to match. For the programming side, I registered the new fob to the vehicle's immobilizer using my programming equipment right at the car. No tow, no waiting room, no appointment made three weeks out.
The whole job was done before she finished her second errand stop. She left with two working remote head keys, lock and unlock on both, and the car starting off either one. She paid a fraction of what the dealer wanted, and now if she ever loses one key, it's an add-a-key job instead of an all-keys-lost job. That distinction matters more than people realize until they need it.
