A guy out in Sea Air picked up a 2010 XC60 through an estate sale. Clean car, well kept, and the family handed him exactly one key when the deal was done. He knew going in that Volvo keys weren't cheap, but he still called me after getting the dealer quote just to reality-check it.

The part I always make sure to explain on these: all-keys-lost on a Volvo is a different level of job. The central electronics module can require bench work if you have no working key to reference. He was holding his one key while we talked, and I told him the spare he was about to get was cheap insurance against a much harder situation. That seemed to land.
He left with two working keys for a fraction of what the dealer wanted for one.
