2006 BMW 5 Series Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
Got a call from a guy stuck in a parking garage off the Richland area of San Marcos. After hours, no one around. His only key was gone. He had checked his jacket, his desk drawer, the elevator floor. Nothing turned up.
He was already pricing tow trucks when he called me. I told him to slow down.
First thing I asked for was the VIN. He read it off the lower driver's corner of the windshield while standing right there in the garage. That number told me the generation, the key configuration, and exactly what to bring. I prepped everything in the van before I left.
When I got there he was standing outside the car looking tired. I cut a replacement key blade matched to his vehicle on site, handled the immobilizer side of it, and tested the car before I touched anything else. Engine started, held, no stalls. That is the test that matters on these.
He drove home that night. The dealer was closed and would have wanted a tow on top of whatever they charged. He saved a good chunk by not going that route. The job took less time than the tow truck would have.
The VIN call before I arrive is not small talk. It is how I show up ready instead of showing up and then figuring it out.
