Start with the battery. CR2032, common and cheap. If a fresh battery does not fix it, open the fob and look at the contact points under the battery and at the board. Corrosion shows up as a dull gray film or faint green tinge. If the board looks intact and clean contacts do not solve it, the fob may need replacement and pairing. That is a quick job.
