Got a call from a guy in Bressi Ranch, over in one of the newer townhouse complexes off Palomar Airport Road. Covered parking, tight rows, low concrete overhangs. A tow truck wasn't getting anywhere near his 2000 Suburban, and the car wasn't going anywhere without a working key.

He laughed a little and said the dealer had quoted him a tow and an appointment slot three days out. He had his key in about twenty minutes, standing next to his own truck in his own parking spot.
The dealer comparison wasn't even the point. The point was he didn't have to figure out how to get a full-size Suburban out of a tight covered lot on a bent key.
