I got a call from a guy in Downtown Lemon Grove who had been fighting his 2013 Ford Expedition for about three weeks. Every morning was a ritual: wiggle the key, push it in at just the right angle, wait, try again.

I laid the old wafers on the hood so he could actually see the wear pattern and understand what had been causing the binding.
The ignition turns smooth now. He did not replace anything that was not actually broken. And he saved a good chunk compared to the dealer quote he had been sitting on.
