I was parked on Grand Avenue in Downtown Escondido wrapping up paperwork when the call came in. A guy a few blocks away had a 2010 Mustang sitting cold in the driveway. His only key had stopped working overnight. No warning, no gradual fade. Just dead.

He'd already gotten a dealer quote that assumed a tow since the car wouldn't move. I did the whole job in his driveway. No tow, no appointment, no leaving the car somewhere for a day. He seemed most surprised that it happened at all at that hour, right there on his street.
