Got a call from a guy out near South Poway who had been fishing all morning and came back to a problem he could not solve by himself.
He had set his keys down somewhere between the water and the bait shop, retraced every step, and came up empty. He wanted a spare cut too, so I did that while we were standing there. Total time in the lot was under an hour. He drove home the same afternoon with two working keys, which was roughly one working key more than he had ever owned at one time.
The dealer route would have meant a tow, a Monday appointment, and a bill that made no sense for a 30-year-old Accord. This way he was gone before the bait shop even closed.
