1998 Honda Accord
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in San Diego

1998 Honda Accord Metal Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

I was parked near Rancho Santa Fe Village on another call when my phone rang. A woman had locked her keys inside her 1998 Accord. She was staying somewhere in the area for the week, had found a spare at the bottom of her bag that morning, and then lost that one too. Two keys down. No way in, no way to drive anywhere.

She had already called Honda roadside. They connected her to a dealer. The dealer said bring it in, quoted a wait of the next afternoon, and mentioned they'd need to verify ownership before cutting anything. She did not have the car towed. She called me instead.

I was there in about fifteen minutes. I pulled the key code by decoding the door lock cylinder right on site, cut a fresh key to that code on my machine in the van, and she was back in the driver's seat before the sun dropped behind the tree line.

The whole point of having a mobile locksmith is this: a 1998 Accord key is a metal key. There is nothing here that requires a dealer's shop. The cut is the job. I can do that cut anywhere the car is sitting, and I did.
