2023 Infiniti QX50
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in San Diego

2023 Infiniti QX50 Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

De Luz sits up in the hills east of Fallbrook, on roads that twist through avocado groves before opening up into these quiet properties set back from everything. I drove out there on a Tuesday morning for a QX50 owner who had lost his only fob somewhere on the property.

He had already looked everywhere. No fob. The QX50 was sitting in the driveway, locked, and without a recognized key in range the car was not going anywhere under its own power. He had called the Infiniti dealer first. They told him it would need to be towed in, and the wait for an appointment was several days out.

I told him to hold off on the tow.

I pulled up to the driveway, connected to the OBD port, and ran the all-keys-lost procedure. The process involves PIN retrieval from the immobilizer module, then enrolling the new fob as the sole authorized key. It is a guided sequence, timed by the system, and it ends with a confirmation on the cluster that the new key has been accepted. The emergency insert blade gets cut to the car at the same time so he has a physical backup if the fob battery ever goes flat.

From connection to confirmation was under thirty minutes. He watched the whole thing from the shade of his porch.

The dealer route would have cost him a tow, multiple days without the vehicle, and a bill that made him wince when he looked it up. He saved a good chunk and kept his morning from turning into a week-long headache.
