Got a call from a travel photographer staying at an Airbnb in Kearny Mesa, San Diego. She had one key for her 2003 Jeep Cherokee and it had stopped working. Not a dead battery situation. The thing she kept saying was that she didn't realize the key had a chip in it at all. Most people don't. They think of it as a metal key that either fits or doesn't. Once I explained that the vehicle won't run without the chip being recognized, the whole problem made sense to her.
