I got a call on a weekday evening from a guy stranded on the highway shoulder outside Carlsbad. He was a traveling salesman, had a client meeting the next morning, and his 2023 Jeep Cherokee had gone quiet on him.

When you're on the side of a California highway at 6pm, dealer availability is a theoretical concept. I showed up. That is the whole job sometimes.
