A guy from Blossom Valley in Lakeside called me on a Tuesday morning. He had been up at a cabin outside town for a long weekend and lost his only fob somewhere in the area. Checked the cabin, checked the truck of his buddy who drove up, checked the trail. Gone.

When the new fob enrolled and the start button lit up, he sat in the driver seat for a second without saying anything. Then he asked if I wanted coffee from inside the cabin.
He had already called the dealer earlier that morning. They told him the car would need to be towed to them, and the earliest appointment was five days out. Getting a spare made right there on site, while I already had the equipment connected, cost him way less than what they were describing for just the tow.
