2012 Audi A5 Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
A piano teacher in Oxnard, close to South Winds, called me on a Monday morning. Her 2012 A5 was sitting in the music school parking lot, and her fob had stopped working sometime over the weekend. She didn't know exactly when. She just knew she'd been unlocking by pulling the emergency blade and starting the car hoping it would clear on its own. It hadn't.
She'd already called the Audi dealer. They said Friday at the earliest, possibly longer if the fob needed to be ordered. She teaches lessons every afternoon and drives her kids to school every morning. Friday wasn't an option.
I pulled up to the lot that same Monday afternoon with the car right there. Ran the programming sequence through the OBD port using the right tool for Audi immobilizer work, registered the new fob, and cut the emergency insert blade on site. After that I walked every function: remote lock, remote unlock, comfort access on both door handles, and all four buttons confirmed. She watched the whole thing from about six feet away, arms crossed, like she was waiting for something to go wrong.
Nothing went wrong. Total time on site was under an hour.
The dealer quote had included a tow since she wasn't sure the car would start reliably. My job was done in the lot where the car already sat. She saved a good chunk, skipped the five-day wait, and made her afternoon lessons.
