July in Oxnard, Centerpoint Mall area. A woman had wedding flower arrangements sitting in the back of her 2015 Audi A5, peonies and garden roses in sealed boxes with the AC off and the windows up. She had maybe an hour before the heat turned them into compost.

I got the door open and the engine running first so the AC could save the flowers. Then I pulled her IYZFBSB802 fob apart on the hood. The CR2032 had leaked inside the housing and the acid had eaten through one of the antenna contact traces on the board. No amount of cleaning was bringing that back.
I swapped in a new fob, plugged my diagnostic tool into the OBD port under the dash, and ran the BCM2 key registration. Programmed the new fob, erased the dead one, tested lock, unlock, trunk, panic, and walked around the car checking comfort access pickup from every door handle and the trunk button.
Forty-three minutes from her phone call to the engine running. The flowers made it to the venue alive. She did not lose a floral order over a corroded battery contact.
