The TQ8-FOB-4F53U was transmitting fine for remote lock/unlock, but passive entry was dead. I popped the fob at his driver door and found a CR2032 reading 2.7V instead of 3.0V. Just enough juice to confuse the BCM.
Fresh battery, but that's only step one. The G90's Body Control Module needs a reset after low battery events or it holds onto error code B1477. I plugged into the OBD port, cleared the code, then ran through the passive entry calibration sequence. Touch unlock came back to life on all four doors.
While I had the scanner connected, he mentioned wanting a second fob for his wife. Perfect timing. I decoded the HY15R emergency blade using my Lishi tool, cut a match, then pulled the PIN from the SMARTRA immobilizer module. The second TQ8-FOB-4F53U paired up in about 20 minutes.
He saved a chunk versus what the Genesis dealer quoted him the week before, plus kept his surgery schedule. The whole job wrapped up before the neighbor's landscapers finished edging the median.
