First thing I did was decode the door lock to get the key cuts. The '97 Prelude uses a standard Honda HO01 keyway, ten-cut, nothing exotic. I cut a fresh blade on my Condor right there on the tailgate. Then the transponder side. His car runs the first-gen Honda immobilizer with a T5 glass chip, so I used my ACDP Mini to read the immobilizer data from the ECU, cloned the correct ID13 values onto a new T5 chip, and seated it into the key head.
Turned the ignition. The green key light on the dash went solid instead of blinking. Engine fired.
He just stood there for a second, looking at the dirt lot, looking at his car running, like he was still doing math on how that worked without a shop or a lift or a building.
The whole thing happened in the same parking spot where he had been stuck all morning. No tow, no wait, a fraction of what a dealer and flatbed combo would have run him.
