Got a call from a woman near the Woolworths Building downtown in Oxnard. She had a 2000 Honda Prelude, the last-gen BB6, and her only key had snapped right at the bow where the plastic meets the blade. Half the key was in her hand, the other half was stuck in the ignition cylinder.

I got there in about 40 minutes. Extracted the broken blade from the cylinder with a hook pick, no damage to the wafers. Then I cut a new HD106 blade on my Triax and paired a T5 transponder chip to the immobilizer using the Smart Pro through the OBD-II port under the dash. The Prelude's first-gen immobilizer is pretty cooperative once you have the right diagnostic flow. Whole thing, extraction to a running engine, took maybe 35 minutes on site.
She sat on the curb the whole time watching, arms crossed, like she was waiting for bad news. When it started, she just nodded slowly, like she had been holding her breath.
