2015 Hyundai Veloster
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in Ventura County

2015 Hyundai Veloster Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

Over at Wagon Wheel, not far from the Oxnard duck pond, a guy called me about his 2015 Veloster. He had been at a lakeside picnic area and somewhere between the grass and the parking lot, his only fob disappeared. He retraced everything, asked around, came up empty. The car was just sitting there, locked, in the afternoon heat.

I told him I could be there within a couple hours.

When I pulled up, he had that look people get when they have been standing next to their own car for too long. I picked the door, decoded the blade positions off the lock, and connected through the OBD port to run the all-keys-lost procedure. That wipes the old fob data entirely so the missing one becomes useless to anyone who finds it. Then I registered the new fob and cut the blade to match the decode.

He wanted a spare this time. Smart call. I made two.

Both fobs paired, both started the car, door handle touch on both front handles working. He was back in business before the sun got low. He mentioned the dealer had quoted him a multi-day wait plus a tow fee just to get the car to them. We did it in the parking lot he was already standing in, for a fraction of what they wanted.
