Got a call from a guy out in the Juanamaria neighborhood in Ventura. His 2015 Jeep Renegade was sitting in the driveway and his only Fobik was gone. Thinks it fell out of his pocket on a trail run earlier that day. He already called the Jeep dealer and they told him the vehicle would need to be towed in, the wait was about a week for the part, and the total would be, well, a lot more than he wanted to hear.
He found me online and I was out there within the hour.
I used a Y159 Lishi tool to decode his door lock, reading each wafer position inside the cylinder without removing or damaging anything. That gave me the full bitting. Cut a new blade on site, then built the replacement Fobik, part number 68155686AB, with the Hitag Pro AES transponder chip inside.
The all-keys-lost procedure on these goes through the OBD-II port. The BCM, which on the BU/520 platform is the module that handles key authorization, gets a security access sequence, then accepts the new key registration. Paired all four buttons, tested lock, unlock, remote start, and panic. Walked the perimeter and checked the passive entry sensors on both front doors and the liftgate.
His original lock cylinder stayed in place. No drilling, no swap, no cosmetic damage. The Renegade looked the same as when I pulled up, just with a working key in his hand again.
