2007 Kia RIO
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in Ventura County

2007 Kia RIO Remote Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

I got a call at 6:20am from a framing contractor in the Samarkand neighborhood of Santa Barbara. His crew was already at the job site and he was standing in a parking lot looking at a problem he didn't have time for. The blade on his 2007 Rio flip key had snapped at the pivot, and part of it was still sitting inside the ignition cylinder. His materials were waiting.

I was stocked and on the road inside of ten minutes. Found him exactly where he said, leaning on the hood.

The fragment came out clean. No damaged wafers. I decoded the lock, cut a fresh blade to match, and transferred the electronics into a new shell so the remote stayed functional. Then I ran the programming through the OBD port to confirm the transponder was talking to the car. First crank, it started.

He was loaded and moving toward the job site before 7:30am. He mentioned the dealer had quoted him something painful the last time he needed key work, which is usually how the conversation goes. This time he paid a fraction of that and lost maybe an hour of his morning instead of a full day.

I didn't need a shop. I didn't need a tow. That's the whole point of doing this mobile.
