I got a call out to Victoria Estates in Oxnard on a 2015 Kia Rio that had already been through the wringer.

The owner told me another locksmith had come out a few days earlier, charged him for a full key replacement, then left with the car cranking and immediately dying. Every time. I walked through each step with him watching the screen so he could see the confirmation himself. Then I tested every button on the fob, had him start the car twice, and let it idle to make sure it wasn't going to cut out.

It held. Clean start. No warning lights. He'd paid twice for this job by the time I showed up, which isn't something I could fix. But at least the car worked when I left.
